ক্যালেন্ডারে মে মাস পড়লেই, বাঙালি অপেক্ষা করে থাকে দুই প্রবাদপ্রতীম কিংবদন্তীর জন্মোৎসব পালনের জন্য। ২ রা মে সত্যজিৎ রায়ের জন্মদিনের পরই আসে ৭ মে। ক্যালেন্ডারের দিন অনুযায়ী ১৮৬১ সালের ৭ মে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিলেন বিশ্বকবি রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর। আর সেই উপলক্ষ্যে ৭ মে বিশ্বজুড়ে তাঁর জন্মবার্ষিকীতে চলছে রবি-বন্দনা। তবে বাঙালির কাছে কবিগুরুর জন্মদিন মানেই ২৫ শে বৈশাখ। সেই দিকনেই ‘রবীন্দ্রজয়ন্তী’ হিসাবে পালন করে আপামর বাঙালি।
